The CentOS8 Download ISO for installation from the following site.
https://mirrors.oit.uci.edu/centos/8.2.2004/isos/x86_64/ First Create bootable media like DVD Or Pendrive
- Insert the CentOS 8 ISO installation disk and start Computer. Then, CentOS 8 Installer starts as follows.
- press Enter key to proceed to next.
- Select the language you did like to use during the installation. The selected language on here also will be set as the default System language
- Back to the default Installation Summary section
- Choose the Software Selection on the list you’d like to install. In this example, it Chooses [Server] (without GUI).
Installation Destination
- Make sure to click on the Installation Destination to select the device(s) on which you want to install CentOS 8.
- You can decide how you want to partition the storage devices by selecting Automatic or custom.
Automatic on it, partitioning is automatically done. Then partitioning is configured as /boot, /, /home, swap.
custom you will Create manual Partition like /boot, / , /home/ /var, /opt , etc
- GO back to the Installation Summary by clicking on Done.
NETWORK AND HOST
- If you’d like to enable Networking now, Click ON button. set host name, Input the Hostname on hostname field .
SET IP ADDRESS
- Click on configure option and click on ipv4 setting click add option and fill the required filed like
Address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Netmask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Gateway xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- also fill DNS servers and Search Domain Field. then click on save.
- Confirm the Selection if that’s ok click begin installation to install CentOS
- set password for root Account
- After complete Installation click on Reboot lower right side to restart the computer.
- After restarting the computer, the login prompt is shown as follows. Login with the root user or a common user you set during installation. If login normally, CentOS 8 Installation is finished.
